The Institute of Statistics of French Polynesia (ISPF) Event for World Statistics Day 2025.

The World Statistics Day is an international observance that promotes the importance of official statistics. Under the leadership of the UN Statistics Division, the fourth edition will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025, under the theme: “Driving change with quality statistics and data for everyone.”

To mark this occasion, and in line with its mission, the Institute of Statistics of French Polynesia (ISPF) is organizing several public events, with the support of The Pacific Community.

Morning Programme – October 20, 2025: Five successive public presentations will cover the following topics:

• The protection of your personal data • Inflation • Household surveys • Careers in statistics • The Economic and Social Overview of French Polynesia

Afternoon Workshops – October 20, 2025: Four simultaneous workshops will be held on the following themes:

• Exploring a population of 100 million people with zero budget • Surveys work — proof by example • Data visualization tool: Pacific Dataviz Challenge • From raw data to decision-making: Excel vs Power BI

The Third Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific will be held from 24 to 26 June 2025, at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand. The Third Ministerial Conference will (a) celebrate the achievements of the CRVS Decade; (b) identify areas where further work is needed to achieve goals and targets of the 2014 Ministerial Declaration and the Regional Action Framework and the 2021 Ministerial Declaration; (c) formally extend the Decade to align with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; and (d) identify key actions and enhance commitment to ensure inclusive and resilient civil registration and vital statistics systems as a foundation for legal identity for all.
