Today marks World Statistics Day, established in 2010 by the United Nations Statistical Commission and celebrated every five years to recognize the vital role of statistics in informing public discourse — a cornerstone of modern democratic societies.

This year’s theme, “driving change with quality statistics and data for everyone,” is especially significant. High-quality, independent, and accessible data are indispensable for reliable policymaking and for building credibility and trust in public institutions.
