Every five years, on October 20th, we celebrate World Statistics Day, a reminder that trusted data is the foundation of every effective policy and meaningful change. This year’s theme, “Quality statistics and data for everyone,” reflects UNIDO Statistics’ mission: Progress by innovation with reliable industrial statistics.

Our work focuses on three pillars:
Global reference on industrial statistics – providing trusted international data and indicators on manufacturing, mining, and utilities.
Data communication and use – ensuring high-quality, comparable data reach a wide audience through open-access platforms and publications.
SDG9 monitoring and technical cooperation – helping countries track progress toward sustainable industrialization with evidence-based insights.

The Third Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific will be held from 24 to 26 June 2025, at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand. The Third Ministerial Conference will (a) celebrate the achievements of the CRVS Decade; (b) identify areas where further work is needed to achieve goals and targets of the 2014 Ministerial Declaration and the Regional Action Framework and the 2021 Ministerial Declaration; (c) formally extend the Decade to align with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development; and (d) identify key actions and enhance commitment to ensure inclusive and resilient civil registration and vital statistics systems as a foundation for legal identity for all.
