Eurostat Celebrates World Statistics Day 2025

For Eurostat, World Statistics Day is a unique opportunity to raise awareness about the power of official statistics as a public good. It is an occasion to reinforce dialogue with all stakeholders and showcase our commitment to this year’s World Statistics Day slogan: “Driving change with quality statistics and data for everyone.

For World Statistics Day 2025, Eurostat will highlight how, as the statistical office of the European Union, it is at the forefront of democratic standards and technological innovation – harnessing AI, combating disinformation, and supporting evidence-based decision-making for everyone. It is also a time to shine a light on Eurostat’s global role in official statistics through cooperation and assistance beyond the EU and EFTA.

To mark the occasion, Eurostat will hold a webinar on AI for official statistics, release a Stats in a Wrap podcast episode on innovation, and publish a news article highlighting Eurostat’s role, products, and services. On its social media channels, engaging infographics, a short reel, and an interactive quiz will bring these messages to broader audiences. Eurostat is also producing the iconographics for a joint communication activity by the members of the European Statistical System.

Furthermore, we will promote our latest corporate video and the newest edition of the publication Key figures on the EU in the world, and feature World Statistics Day in our statistical literacy newsletter.

On 20 October, Eurostat proudly joins the worldwide celebration of official statistics that inform, empower, and drive change for everyone.
