Commemoration World Statistics Day 2025 at the College of Banking and Financial Studies in Oman.
The College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS), through its Department of Data Science and Information Technology, will commemorate World Statistics Day 2025 on 20 October 2025, in alignment with the global initiative led by the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD).
This celebration underscores the College’s commitment to promoting a data-driven culture and to advancing the national and global agenda of evidence-based decision-making. The event will feature a keynote address on national statistics and data governance, a high-level panel discussion titled “Artificial Intelligence vs. Business Analytics: Shaping Tomorrow’s Insights,” and a series of interactive student engagements, including a probability challenge and a “Data in Action” zone designed to demonstrate the practical relevance of statistics in everyday life.
Through these initiatives, CBFS aims to foster data literacy, enhance analytical thinking among students, and build bridges between artificial intelligence, business analytics, and applied statistics as key enablers of innovation and sustainable economic growth.
By participating in this global commemoration, CBFS reaffirms its dedication to supporting the Sultanate of Oman’s vision for knowledge-based development and to contributing to international efforts that strengthen trust in data, transparency, and informed policymaking, the cornerstone of sustainable progress.
