Join the High-level Forum Organized by the National Statistical Office of Viet Nam and United Nations’ agencies in Viet Nam in Celebration of the World Statistics Day 2025.
The World Statistics Day (20 October) is held every five years at the initiative of the United Nations Statistical Commission to recognize the crucial role of reliable, timely, and high-quality statistics in informed decision-making and sustainable development. The 2025 celebration marks the global milestone in acknowledging the contributions of statistical agencies, especially in monitoring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and promoting evidence-based policies. This year’s event is an opportunity to showcase achievements, foster cooperation, and inspire innovative use of statistics for sustainable development.
In Viet Nam, the National Statistics Office (NSO) is collaborating with the United Nations’ agencies to organize a series of activities as follows:
Meeting on the World Statistics Day Commemorative Ceremony and High-level Forum with a theme of “Statistics for a Sustainable Future in the Digital Era – Viet Nam’s SDG Monitoring Journey” Chaired by: H.E. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Vice Minister of Finance of Viet Nam on 20 October 2025 in Hanoi, Viet Nam.
Developing a Short Video: featuring statisticians, UN experts, and data user
Creating Story Corner: “How Statistics Change Lives” (real-life policy impacts) which will be displayed in the World Statistics Day Commemorative Ceremony.
Implementing Social Media & Communication Campaign on NSO's website and social media's pages
A Letter of Congratulation from the Prime Minister of Viet Nam to all statisticians in Viet Nam (attached files are Letter in Vietnamese and English translation)
Through these activities, the National Statistical Office of Viet Nam contributes to the global recognition of World Statistics Day.
