Celebration of World and European Statistics Day 2025 by the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT).



ALBANIA

To mark World and European Statistics Day, established by the United Nations Statistical Commission in 2010 to highlight the vital role of official statistics in society and to promote evidence-based policymaking, the Albanian Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) is organizing a high-level event titled: “Reliable Statistics for EU Accession: Advancing Chapter 18 on Albania’s Integration Journey” on 20 October 2025.

The event aims to emphasize the critical importance of official statistics in Albania’s European integration process, with a special focus on Chapter 18 “Statistics” of the EU acquis, as the country prepares for the upcoming negotiation phase expected to intensify through 2027.

The programme will bring together distinguished institutional, academic, and diplomatic representatives to foster dialogue and cooperation on the role of high-quality, objective statistical information in shaping public policy, supporting transparency, and informing strategic decisions in a complex data environment.

The Third Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific will be held from 24 to 26 June 2025, at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand.
