The United Nations Statistical Commission, the highest body of the global statistical system and a subsidiary body of the UN Economic and Social Council, plays a key role in the coordination and standardisation of data and statistics. It provides a forum for the exchange and sharing of knowledge between countries around the world to improve standards and methodologies as well as the international comparability of data and statistics.

The Third Ministerial Conference on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics in Asia and the Pacific will be held from 24 to 26 June 2025, at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Bangkok, Thailand.
